CBT Study No. 3: The Culture of Learning, Working, and Making

In the latest installment of our CBT Study series, we share a range of findings from a recent roundtable discussion about the many factors that contribute to successful innovation spaces. As companies, universities, and various organizations start to see the results of their own innovation spaces, the ways that these "iLabs" can serve — or underserve — their communities offer some valuable lessons.

In this study, we explore the ways that organizations have reaped success from their innovation spaces; address some of the pitfalls that are not always clear at the outset; and offer a roadmap of sorts for evaluating how an iLab can be best conceived for each constituent group. Acheiving the right balance of creative architectural design, organizational ambition, and responsiveness to human behavior is critical.
