Cambridge Crossing Wins ULI Americas Award for Excellence
Cambridge Crossing has been awarded the prestigious ULI Americas Award for Excellence! Recognizing superior development efforts in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, the Urban Land Institute’s Awards for Excellence have represented the highest standards of achievement in the land use profession for the last 44 years. This year, Cambridge Crossing was selected as one of only ten developments to receive this honor in the ULI Americas region. Cambridge Crossing and fellow ULI Americas honorees will advance as finalists in the 2023 Global Awards for Excellence program, competing against projects from the Europe and Asia Pacific regions.
Since its inception two decades ago, the Cambridge Crossing master plan has transcended market cycles and typologies over the years to transform a former train yard into a dynamic mixed-use neighborhood. The 43-acre site includes 2.5 million square feet of life science and tech space, 2.4 million square feet of residential space, 100,000 square feet of retail space, and 11 acres of open space with views of the Boston skyline. Introducing a new MBTA station, a significant network of green space with a large central park, an extension to the Minuteman Trail, and a wide range of public amenities, Cambridge Crossing provides a great new space to live, work, play, and visit. The vision for Cambridge Crossing prioritizes a human-centered approach to design, with 25% of the site dedicated to community open space, and multiple opportunities to encourage human interaction and strengthen a sense of community.
