Lois Goodell and Margaret Deutsch Honored as CRE Power Women

CBT Architects is proud to announce that Margaret Deutsch, Principal and Chief Financial Officer and Lois Goodell, IIDA, Principal and Director of Interior Design, were honored in Bisnow’s “2014 Boston Power Women in Commercial Real Estate Series." Deutsch and Goodell were recognized among the top 50 most impactful and influential women in the Boston area commercial real estate industry.

“Bisnow’s recognition of these two women in this prestigious list highlights CBT’s innovative and talented senior leadership, as well as the firm’s success working on some of Boston’s premier real estate projects,” said Charles Tseckares, FAIA, LEED AP, a founding Principal of CBT. “Lois and Margaret have played integral roles in positioning the firm as a leader in the industry, both locally, nationally and internationally.”

Deutsch joined CBT in 1980, and is responsible for the financial and administrative management of the firm and chairs the firm’s Executive Committee. She participates in local and national business managerial groups and has represented the firm as a past Chair of The Advisors Group (TAG). Additionally, she maintains an active membership in the American Management Institute’s National COO Group. A trained New England Conservatory pianist, Deutsch’s is a passionate supporter of the arts with particular interest in opera, theater and music. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Applied Piano from the New England Conservatory of Music, a degree in English, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance (with high distinction) from the Bentley Graduate School of Business.

Goodell, who joined the firm in 1986, leads a team of 60 interior designers and has spearheaded the expansion of the firm’s interiors practice locally, nationally and internationally, with market sectors that include workplace, hospitality, multi-family residential, academic and asset strategy. She brings an original perspective to both established and emerging companies, designing forward thinking workspaces reflective of the energy of the new business landscape. Adding to her impressive resume, Goodell has remained committed to design education as overseer, faculty, critic, and advisor to numerous design programs including the Boston Architectural Center, Wentworth, New England School of Art and Design and Endicott College. Lois holds a Bachelor of Arts in Design and Environment Analysis from Cornell University. 

Those recognized in the Boston Power Women Series were honored at a reception at The State Room in Boston, MA, on Monday, December 15, 2014. Bisnow is an e-publication covering the people and projects in commercial real estate communities throughout the nation and creates the local Top 50 lists from a combination of peer reviews, news, and commercial real estate market professionals.
