13 Awards for Excellence in 2017

Surpassing all preceding years, CBT proudly received multiple awards for design and preservation excellence, as well as honors conferred upon the firm itself for a range of accomplishments.

Architecture awards included the Honor Award for Excellence in Design from AIA Vermont for the new residential quadrangle at Champlain College and the SCUP/AIA-CAE Award for Excellence in Architecture for our design of Miami University’s Western Dining Commons.

The firm’s interior design work garnered both the First Place – Office (30-80k sf) and the People’s Choice awards from IIDA New England for the new Shawmut Design and Construction Headquarters; the Best in Hospitality – Hotel/Lodging for the design of Le Meridien Cambridge-MIT; and First Place in the Contemporary Kitchen category from New England Living magazine for the redesign of the Bertman residence kitchen. Following CBT’s repositioning of the property, 53 State Street was named The Outstanding Building of the Year by BOMA’s Boston Chapter. Preservation awards from Preservation Massachusetts (for UTEC in Lowell) and from the Boston Preservation Alliance (Shawmut) rounded out the project recognition for the year.

As a firm, CBT was named as one of BostInno.com’s “50 on Fire” for innovation; ranked as one of ARCHITECT magazine’s Top 50 firms; earned “Best Red Carpet Look” at the annual IIDA Fashion Show; and was the recipient of IIDA New England’s very first Legacy Award, celebrating the firm’s history of design excellence. We are so pleased with such an honor-filled year!
