CBT’s design concept for Belmont Country Club is based on an elegant blend of the club’s long history and traditions with modern club functions and amenities to create a new signature identity and gathering place for its members.
The design for this 44,000-square-foot club was crafted to support a strong relationship between the interior program and the exterior landscape, with the building’s facades embracing the primary functions of the corresponding spaces and rooting the building in the landscape. The west side is reminiscent of a stately New England home and is the formal face upon entry into the site. The north façade brings the outdoors in with twelve foot tall windows and clerestory that spans the members’ common space and opens to an outdoor dining deck. Its casual elegance provides a private refuge for members and showcases the club’s exceptional golf course. The south side of the building presents the same classic forms seen on the West side but in a less formal way and creates the primary axes connecting the building, pool, play field, tennis courts and golf practice facility. The flow of members along this side is carefully designed to optimize member experience and efficiency of access to all functions.
